As a maintenance manager, one trait to possess is empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. To cascade your well-thought-out system to the shop floor, you must know your team and the people that may affect the outcome of your work. To get people to align with your values, you must understand their personality types. I would recommend that every manager studies the DiSC personality model. Knowledge of the quadrants of personality will result in better team management.
